From an M3 in Frozen Black to a daily-driven X5 — BMW paint, correctly corrected and correctly protected.
BMW's paint is generally hard, which is good news and bad news. Good news: it resists swirl marks better than a Tesla or a Japanese finish. Bad news: when it does mark, it's stubborn to correct, and hard clear coat is brittle — it chips readily on the front end.
Add BMW's individual and frozen finishes to the mix and you have paint that genuinely rewards proper treatment. Frozen (matte) paint in particular cannot be polished at all and must be protected with the right products from day one.

BMW's hard clear coat takes a coating beautifully and the gloss result on solid colours is exceptional. See our ceramic coating options.

Frozen paint can't be polished — ever. It needs a matte-safe coating and specific maintenance. Get this wrong once and the panel is permanently glossy in patches.

The BMW Curved Display and gloss console are scratch-prone and costly to replace. Interior PPF handles both.
BMW paint takes more passes to correct than most. It's slower work and it's priced accordingly — but the finish holds up brilliantly afterwards.
Hard clear coat is brittle. On M cars especially, the low, wide nose takes a beating on the freeway. PPF is the only real answer.
Never polished, never waxed, never taken through an automatic wash. We coat it with matte-safe products and show you exactly how to maintain it.

BMW's hard clear coat resists swirls better than most, but it still oxidises, etches from bird droppings, and dulls with UV exposure. A ceramic coating makes washing safer and keeps the gloss — and on solid colours the visual improvement is significant.
A full front on a 3 or 4 Series typically runs $2,800–$4,000. M cars sit higher due to the aggressive front aero and splitters — usually $3,500–$5,000 for a full front. Full-body coverage starts around $7,500.
No — and nobody else should either. Polishing adds gloss, which permanently ruins a matte finish. Frozen paint must be maintained with matte-specific products and protected with a matte-safe ceramic coating or matte PPF.
BMW clear coat is hard, and hard coatings are more brittle. Combined with the low, wide front-end geometry of modern M cars, stone strikes tend to chip rather than deflect. It's exactly the scenario PPF exists for.
Constantly. M2, M3, M4, M5, M8 and the X-series M cars are among the most common vehicles through our Richmond workshop, alongside the standard 3, 4 and 5 Series range.
Before, ideally — book with us and drive straight from the dealer to Richmond. See our new car paint protection page for why dealer packages generally aren't the answer.
Yes. A precision-cut interior PPF screen protector fits the Curved Display and preserves full touch sensitivity. Gloss and anti-glare finishes are both available.
Longer than most marques, because the clear coat is hard. A multi-stage correction on an M3 typically takes three days. It's worth the time — corrected BMW paint holds its finish exceptionally well.
