Corrected First, Always
A coating locks in whatever is underneath it. We machine polish the defects out first — otherwise you're sealing in swirl marks for the next four years. This is non-negotiable for us.

A sacrificial layer between your paint and everything Melbourne throws at it — applied properly, over paint we've corrected first.
A ceramic coating is best understood as a second layer of clear coat. It's applied as a liquid, allowed to chemically react with your paint, and the excess is levelled off — leaving an invisible, hard, hydrophobic layer bonded to the surface.
That layer takes the hit instead of your clear coat. It keeps the car cleaner between washes, makes the wash itself far easier and safer, and adds a depth of gloss that a wax simply can't hold. What it isn't is a force field — anyone selling a coating as scratch-proof is selling you something false. For impact protection, paint protection film is the answer.
We offer ceramic coating products for both gloss and satin paintwork, as well as glass, plastics, interior fabrics and leather for the full protection package. It doesn't matter whether your car is second-hand or brand new — we tailor a coating package to exactly what your car needs. Sometimes less is more.

We select the coating to suit the car and how it's used. A garaged weekend car and a daily that sleeps on the street need different chemistry and different maintenance.

Yes, matte paint can be coated — with the correct product and application it gets the same protection without any change to the finish. It's one of the most common questions we get.

Coating isn't just for paint. Wheels shed brake dust, glass sheds water at speed, and interior surfaces resist staining. Ask about full-vehicle coating packages.
Bird droppings, tree sap, industrial fallout and UV all attack clear coat. The coating is the sacrificial layer that meets them first.
Dirt struggles to bond. Most of it leaves with the pressure rinse, which means less contact, which means fewer swirl marks — the coating protects your paint from your own washing as much as anything else.
Coatings have a higher refractive index than clear coat. On a properly corrected car the result looks better than new — and it holds that look for years, not weeks.
A coated car that's been maintained presents years younger. When it's time for a pre-sale detail, there's far less to do.

It's like having a second layer of clear coat on your car. It's applied as a liquid, left to chemically react, and the excess removed — leaving an invisible protective layer bonded to your paintwork that acts as a sacrificial barrier against environmental damage.
Our coatings last either two or four years depending on the product selected and how the car is stored and washed. A garaged car that's washed correctly will comfortably reach the upper end; a car parked outside under trees and washed at a service station will not.
Coating cost depends far more on the paint correction needed beforehand than the coating itself. A new car requiring minimal correction typically starts around $1,200, while a well-used car needing multi-stage correction can run $2,500–$4,000. We quote after inspecting the car.
Yes. With the correct coating and application you get the same benefits without altering the matte finish. It's actually one of the better things you can do for matte paint, which is otherwise very difficult to clean safely.
They do different jobs. PPF stops stone chips and scratches — it's physical impact protection. Ceramic coating keeps the car cleaner, glossier and protects chemically. Many of our clients do both: film on the front end, coating over the whole car.
Yes — a coating makes washing easier, not unnecessary. A pH-neutral wash every two to four weeks keeps the coating performing. We'll show you exactly how when you collect the car.
Absolutely, and it's where coatings make the biggest visual difference. We just need to correct the paint first — see our paint correction page for what that involves.
We do. Coated wheels release brake dust far more easily, and coated glass improves wet-weather visibility noticeably above 60km/h. Both are popular add-ons to a full paint coating.
It's the same thing as a ceramic coating — "paint protection" is simply how dealers and detailers tend to market it. A silica-based liquid is applied to corrected paint and cures into a hard, slick layer chemically bonded to the surface. It adds gloss, makes washing far easier and resists etching from bird droppings and industrial fallout, typically for two to four years. It won't stop stone chips — that's what PPF is for.
